SINGAPORE — Singapore recorded 520 new cases of Covid-19 infection on Sunday (Sept 12), comprising 517 locally transmitted infections and three imported cases.

Of the locally transmitted cases, 454 were classified by the Ministry of Health as community cases while 63 involve dormitory residents.
Among the local cases are 137 seniors aged above 60.
The three imported cases had already been placed on stay-home notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. One was detected upon arrival, while the other two developed the illness during quarantine.
Singapore has recorded a total of 71,687 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic last year.
A total of 780 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation.
There are currently 54 patients who are seriously ill and require oxygen support, and seven in critical condition in the intensive care units (ICU). Of those who have fallen very ill, 50 are seniors above 60 years old.
Over the last 28 days, the percentage of local cases who were asymptomatic or had mild symptoms is 98.3 per cent.
Of the 84 cases who required oxygen support, 43 were not fully vaccinated and 41 were fully vaccinated.
Of the six who had been in the ICU, four were not fully vaccinated and two were fully vaccinated. Of the four who died, none were fully vaccinated.
As of Sept 11, 81 per cent of the population has completed their full vaccination regimen and 84 per cent has received at least one dose.
A total of 8,859,168 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna vaccines have been administered under the national vaccination programme covering 4,554,718 individuals, with 4,419,947 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.
In addition, 176,820 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organisation’s Emergency Use Listing have been administered, covering 86,597 individuals.
