8 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported
SINGAPORE — Singapore has eight new cases of Covid-19 infection as of noon on Saturday (Dec 12), all of which were imported, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

There are no new cases of locally transmitted infection, it added.
All eight imported cases had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.
MOH said seven were asymptomatic, and were detected from proactive screening and surveillance, while one was symptomatic.
Amongst the eight new cases, five are Singaporeans and one is a Singapore Permanent Resident who returned from Nepal, Britain and India. Another two are dependant’s pass holders who arrived from the United States and Maldives. They had already been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.
UPDATE ON CONDITION OF CONFIRMED CASES
Five more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 58,197 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 28 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.
Another 59 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.
So far, 29 have died from complications due to the coronavirus infection.
