SINGAPORE — A bakery at Ion Orchard mall as well as a supermarket at People’s Park Complex in Chinatown were added to a list of public places where Covid-19 cases had been during their infectious period.

In its second update on the coronavirus situation here on Tuesday (June 8), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the infectious persons had been to:

  • Four Leaves bakery at Ion Orchard on June 3 between 9am and 4pm, June 4 between 1pm and 9.30pm, June 5 between 9am and 9.30pm and June 6 between 1pm and 9.30pm

  • Scarlett Supermarket at People’s Park Complex on June 3 between 4.45pm and 5.20pm

  • A Decathlon sporting goods store at The Centrepoint mall on June 6 between 10am and 11am

  • A Uniqlo store at Orchard Central mall on June 6 between 11am and 11.45am

The case at Four Leaves bakery is a 35-year-old retail assistant with no known links to past cases.

The Malaysian woman, who also works at the same bakery chain in AMK Hub, developed symptoms on June 5 but did not see a doctor until two days later.

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who were identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," it added.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

Individuals may access the SafeEntry Location Matching Self-Check service via the TraceTogether mobile application, SingPass Mappobile, or at https://wereyouthere.safeentry.gov.sg to check whether they were at these locations during the specified timings, based on their own SafeEntry records.

Members of the public do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, MOH said.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

On Tuesday, MOH reported nine new cases of Covid-19, four of which were in the community. The remaining five were imported.

An 86-year-old Singaporean woman died from complications due to the disease.
