SINGAPORE — E-commerce company Shopee said on Monday (Dec 26) that the behaviour of several of its delivery workers seen throwing and mishandling delivery packages in a viral video was "unacceptable".

A 12-second video of the incident was uploaded on Facebook on Dec 22 by a user called James Killingsworth who said it happened at Haig Road. The post has garnered over 124,000 views and 2,100 shares.

Two delivery workers can be seen throwing multiple packages from the back of a Shopee Express van parked at an unidentified carpark in what looks like a public housing estate towards a void deck.

Two other workers stood at the void deck attempting to catch the packages, though they let a majority of the packages fall to the ground.

The sounds of the packages hitting the ground can be heard clearly in the video.

It was not clear what happened after that.

In response to TODAY's queries, Shopee said: "The behaviour seen in the video is unacceptable, and it goes against our values and service commitment at Shopee."

It added that it has reached out to its delivery partners as well as the workers seen in the clip "to reiterate that all personnel must adhere to our stringent delivery guidelines and service standards, and ensure necessary action is taken to ensure that the utmost care is taken for our customers' packages".
