Brief afternoon showers bring respite from prolonged dry spell

SINGAPORE - Skies opened up briefly and rain fell over many parts of Singapore on today (March 15) afternoon, bringing some respite from what has been a record dry spell for the country.

Light rain was expected over many parts of the island today, according to the weatherman.

The National Environment Agency also forecast thundery showers in the afternoon over the next three days with temperatures ranging between 24 and 33°C.

Many were happy with the rain and took to social media to post pictures of the showers, including Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong who posted on his Instagram account a photo of the rain at ITE College Central in Ang Mo Kio where he attended a community event. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
