Cecilia Sue not someone who sleeps with ‘important clients’: Ng Boon Gay
SINGAPORE - While the prosecution had yesterday suggested that former Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) Director Ng Boon Gay had embellished the nature of his relationship with Ms Cecilia Sue, defence lawyers this morning noted that there were no plans between Ng and Ms Sue to collude about the nature of the relationship, before they were interviewed by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).
Nonetheless, both had said they were in an “intimate relationship” in their CPIB statements, with the term “used quite regularly”, Ng’s lawyer Senior Counsel Tan Chee Meng argued.
Under re-examination by the defence lawyer, Ng agreed that he did not know Ms Sue as someone who “would give sex just because a person is an important client,” or that she would she engage in hugging, kissing and heavy petting with an important client.
Earlier in the morning, the prosecution continued to make further applications to impeach Ng’s credit, as it compared his evidence in court to sections of his CPIB statements.
Mr Tan raised no objections to the applications, saying he did not see any contradictions or discrepancies to his client’s evidence.
The trial adjourned after the defence’s final witness, Oracle Corporation’s Human Resource Director Sharon Yan took the stand this afternoon. Ms Yan had interviewed Ms Sue, after the latter was publicly identified to be involved in the case on June 12.
The court will be hearing oral submissions by the defence and prosecution on Jan 28.
