Covid-19: 32-year-old long-term pass holder dies while waiting for swab test result

SINGAPORE — A 32-year-old male long-term pass holder has died while waiting for confirmation on his Covid-19 status. He was confirmed to have the infection after his death.

SINGAPORE — A 32-year-old male long-term pass holder has died while waiting for confirmation on his Covid-19 status. He was confirmed to have the infection after his death.

In its daily update on the cases of Covid-19 infections here on Wednesday (April 8), the Ministry of Health (MOH) identified the man as Case 1604.

The Indian national had been swabbed at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases for Covid-19 on Tuesday.

He was then advised to stay at home pending the test result, MOH said, adding that the man’s chest X-ray “indicated that he did not have pneumonia”.

The man died at his place of residence on Wednesday, and was “confirmed to have Covid-19 after his demise”.

“Investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of death,” MOH said.

To date, Singapore has recorded six deaths from complications due to Covid-19 infection. The ages of the six victims range from 64 to 88.
