SINGAPORE — Some community clubs (CCs) and residents’ committees (RCs) here have suspended activities and classes for 14 days because confirmed Covid-19 cases from the Safra Jurong cluster had attended these programmes.

In a press release on Saturday (March 7), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the 14-day suspension took effect on the day.

The number of confirmed cases from the Safra Jurong cluster now stands at 21. They had attended a private dinner function held at the Joy Garden Restaurant in Safra Jurong on Feb 15 and they were involved in singing activities and classes conducted by the People’s Association (PA) at several CCs and RCs.

All the activities and classes attended by the confirmed cases at the affected CCs and RCs are suspended. "These are mostly singing classes, but include a small number of other activities like line dancing and qigong," MOH said.

These added precautionary measures were put in place to reduce the risk of further transmission, the ministry said.

The affected community clubs and residents’ committees are:
