20-year-old man under investigation after fight along Cuscaden Road

SINGAPORE — A 20-year-old man is assisting with police investigations after a fight broke out along Cuscaden Road early on Saturday (Feb 25) morning.

In response to TODAY's queries, the police said that they were alerted to the fight at 2.50am.

"A 20-year-old man is assisting with investigations. Police investigations are ongoing," they said.

They did not say whether anyone was injured in the fight. Cuscaden Road is between Orchard Road and Grange Road near the shopping belt.

A video shared on online forum Reddit Singapore showed a group of about five young people throwing punches at another youth in a black shirt until he fell on the road. 

The 54-second video also showed the group continuing to rain blows and kicking the youth who was already lying on the road.

A woman was seen falling to the ground after being punched.

The youth continued to lie on the road as onlookers and other members of the group tried to break off the fight.

One person later kicked the head of the youth who was on the ground before being stopped by another person.

CLARIFICATION: An earlier version of this article stated that the fight occurred on Sunday (Feb 26). The police have clarified that it took place on Saturday (Feb 25).
