SINGAPORE — The police have arrested a 45-year-old man for dangerous driving after an accident involving a car, a taxi and a motorcycle in the early hours of Friday (Sept 9) morning, at the junction of Nicoll Highway and Raffles Boulevard.

In response to TODAY’s queries, the police said that they were alerted to the accident at about 2.20am.

The motorcyclist involved in the accident — a 39-year-old man — was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the car was arrested by the police.

In a dashcam footage posted on the Singapore Roads Accident Facebook group, taken from a vehicle not involved in the accident, a motorcyclist can be seen waiting for the traffic light to turn green.

As the traffic light changes in favour of the motorcyclist, the man then rides forward.

Barely five seconds later, a silver-coloured car is seen barrelling down Bras Basah Road near the Civilian War Memorial.

At the junction of Nicoll Highway and Raffles Boulevard, the car makes contact with a taxi before hitting the motorcyclist.

The impact of the collision threw the motorcyclist to the ground while his motorcycle trunk was dislodged and tossed several metres away.

The ground was also littered with debris as a result of the accident.

Police investigations are ongoing.
