SINGAPORE — Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin today (July 26) confirmed that he and his Indonesian-Chinese partner Elaine Andriejanssen are married — almost a month after the actual ceremony on June 27.

In a message posted on Facebook — of course — Mr Saverin said: “I am incredibly happy and thankful to have married the love of my life. I look forward to building a family together and to contributing our time and resources to make the world a better place.

“I will wake up every single day of my life with an ingrained smile because of my beautiful, intelligent and caring wife Elaine.”

The message was posted in English and Portuguese. Mr Saverin, whose net worth is estimated at about US$4.2 billion according to a 2014 Forbes Singapore rich list, was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, before his family emigrated to the United States in 1993. He renounced his US citizenship for a Singapore passport in 2011.

Mr Saverin posted on March 24, 2014, that he was engaged to Ms Andriejanssen. “She said Yes!!! I am engaged to the love of my life. Excited for a life full of adventure, happiness and health,” he wrote then.

Channel NewsAsia understands that Ms Andriejanssen works in the finance industry, and is based in Singapore. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
