SINGAPORE — Fully vaccinated persons playing in team sports will have to do an antigen rapid test with their own kits at the venue 30 minutes before each game, Sport Singapore (SportSG) said.
They must also produce a valid negative result there before the sports activity, the national sports body said in an advisory on Tuesday (Nov 9).
This is when regulations kick in on Wednesday (Nov 10) that allow team sports to resume in the community. A group of up to 10 fully vaccinated persons will be allowed to play together in controlled and supervised settings.
These will be at suitable ActiveSG sports centres and community clubs under the People’s Association.
SportSG said on its website that facilities will be cleaned after each booking, which comprises 105 minutes of play, and players have to leave 15 minutes before the end of the 120-minute slot.
Under this pilot scheme, where there will be combined vaccine-related controls and pre-activity testing, hirers must first book two slots back-to-back for a two-hour session via the ActiveSG mobile application or website before completing an online form on Sport SG’s website.
At the time of play, they must also be present and be part of the group on court.
SportSG stressed that unvaccinated individuals are not allowed to take part in such sports activities even if they have a valid negative pre-event test result. They include those who are medically ineligible to be immunised and children aged 12 and below who are not yet eligible for vaccination.
