SINGAPORE — A man was charged on Friday (Aug 30) over a killer litter incident that took place two weeks ago at a condominium along Spottiswoode Park Road.
Australian national Andrew Gosling, 47, faces one charge of causing the death of 73-year-old Nasiari Sunee by a rash act.
Court documents showed that he allegedly did this on the evening of Aug 18, at the Spottiswoode 18 condo.
He is accused of throwing a glass wine bottle from the seventh floor lift landing towards the vicinity of the barbecue pit and swimming area on the fifth floor.
The bottle struck Nasiari, a delivery man and grandfather of nine, on the head.
The police said in a news release on Friday that they were alerted to the case at about 8.40pm. Nasiari was taken unconscious to the Singapore General Hospital, where he died from his head injuries the next morning.
Gosling was arrested on Wednesday (Aug 28).

District Judge Christopher Goh ordered him to be remanded in Central Police Division for four days till Sept 3, with permission to be taken out. Gosling will return to court then.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Thiagesh Sukuraman told the court that the prosecution requires time for investigations to be completed.
His lawyer Gloria James Civetta asked for some time to speak to her client, and the judge granted the request.
If convicted of causing death by a rash act not amounting to culpable homicide, Gosling could be jailed for up to five years, or fined, or both.
According to media reports, Nasiari was at a relative’s housewarming party that fateful evening. He was about to eat when the bottle struck him on the head.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article stated that lawyer Gloria James Civetta's request for some time to speak to Gosling was denied. This is inaccurate. The request was granted. We are sorry for the error.
