Kovan double bodies case: From alleged murder to trial
July 10, 2013: Bodies of a man and his son found. The man, Tan Boon Sin, was found inside a terrace house on Hillside Drive, while his son, Tan Chee Heong, was found outside Kovan MRT Station. A trail of blood between the house and outside the MRT station was seen. Eyewitnesses say a man drove a silver Camry belonging to the elder Tan out of the house’s driveway, dragging the body of the younger man behind the car.

July 11, 2013: Police locate the silver Camry parked at a car park in Eunos, a few streets away from where the elder Tan had a workshop that has since moved.
July 12, 2013: Policeman Iskandar Rahmat arrested by the Malaysian police in Johor Baru after a 54-hour manhunt. Iskandar, a senior staff sergeant attached to Bedok Police Division, is said to have fled Singapore on the night of the alleged murder on his scooter. Then-Home Affairs Minister Teo Chee Hean issues rare statement on the case, saying police will spare no effort to solve it.
July 15, 2013: Iskandar charged with two counts of murder. He was also suspended from the force and faced disciplinary proceedings for failing to declare his financial troubles. He was declared bankrupt a day after the alleged murders.
Oct 20, 2015: Trial for Iskandar begins, presided by Justice Tay Yong Kwang. More than 100 witnesses were scheduled to give testimonies, but the defence has indicated it will only cross-examine 15.
