LTA seizes 13 more PMDs in latest operation in Sengkang, Lorong Halus

SINGAPORE — The Land Transport Authority (LTA) seized a total of 13 personal mobility devices (PMDs) in its latest enforcement efforts on Tuesday evening (June 25) in the north-eastern part of the country.

SINGAPORE — The Land Transport Authority (LTA) seized a total of 13 personal mobility devices (PMDs) in its latest enforcement efforts on Tuesday evening (June 25) in the north-eastern part of the country.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the LTA said that its active mobility enforcement officers were out in full force to “enforce against errant PMD users and non-compliant devices in Sengkang and Lorong Halus”.

“In total, we detected 15 offences and impounded 13 devices,” said the LTA.

It added that of those who had their devices seized, 12 were caught using their PMDs on roads while one was found to be riding a non-compliant device on a public path.

The LTA added that the single errant user riding his non-compliant device on a public path had also falsely declared the weight limit of his device during registration.

Those caught can be fined up to S$5,000 and/or face imprisonment of up to 12 months for making false declarations or providing false information during the e-scooter registration.

The LTA added that first-time offenders caught riding their PMDs on roads can receive a fine of up to S$2,000 or jailed for up to three months, or they could receive both a fine and a jail term.
