Married couple dead in apparent murder-suicide in Tampines

SINGAPORE — An early morning marital dispute in Tampines turned into a suspected case of murder-suicide on Tuesday (May 1), with a 35-year-old woman found dead at the foot of her condominium block after she apparently injured her husband, who later died in hospital.

The police were alerted to a dispute at 5.55am on Tuesday (May 1) at Q Bay Residences at 3 Tampines Street 86. They found the woman, who had fallen from the window of the bedroom, at the foot of the block.

SINGAPORE — An early-morning marital dispute in Tampines turned into a suspected case of murder-suicide on Tuesday (May 1), with a 35-year-old woman found dead at the foot of her condominium block after she apparently injured her husband, who later died in hospital.

The police were alerted to a dispute at 5.55am at Q Bay Residences at 3 Tampines Street 86. They found the man, also 35, with stab wounds in the living room. He was sent to Changi General Hospital in a semi-conscious state and died from his injuries at 2.10pm.

The police later found the woman, who had fallen from the window of the bedroom, at the foot of the block. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

TODAY understands the couple are Filipino and that their only child, who is 14 years old, witnessed the pre-dawn fight. The family lived in a unit located on one of the lower floors.

The police have classified the case as one of unnatural death and investigations are ongoing.
