SINGAPORE — Singapore has confirmed seven new cases of Covid-19, all of which were imported. There were no cases in the community.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Thursday (Oct 29) that all of the fresh cases have no symptoms.

The seven imported cases comprise two Singaporeans, three work permit holders, one dependant’s pass holder and one special pass holder.

MOH said that the special pass holder is a 52-year-old Filipino man who had arrived here to board a ship docked in Singapore as a crew member.

The others had arrived from India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Switzerland.

All the seven new cases had been placed on stay-home notices upon their arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving their notices.

MOH said that the number of new cases in the community has gone up from two in the week before to three in the past week.

The number of cases with no known links in the community has also gone up from one in the week before to three in the past week.

At the same time, the ministry said that it has been monitoring existing clusters for any further transmission.

“As there have been no more cases linked to the clusters at Avery Lodge Dormitory and Jurong Penjuru Dormitory 2 for the past two incubation periods, the clusters have now been closed,” it added.

UPDATES ON REMAINING CASES

The total number of infections in Singapore now stands at 57,994.

Of these, 57,899 people have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, including nine on Thursday.

There are still 37 patients in hospitals and most are in stable condition or improving. No one is in intensive care.

Another 30 patients are isolated and being cared for at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.

Twenty-eight people have died from complications due to Covid-19.
