SINGAPORE – Parents looking to place their children into child care centres can now do so online with a registration system that is also mobile-friendly.
Set up by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA), the website, called Child Care Link (www.childcarelink.gov.sg) lets parents search for suitable child care centres for their children and indicate interest to register at up to five preferred centres.
Centres can also manage registrations through this system.
Use of the system will also give the ECDA information on child care demand and supply, which the agency said helps in their planning of child care capacity.
Additionally, the ECDA will facilitate the development of 16 other child care centres. This will provide an additional 1,600 child care places over the next few months. This is the second batch of sites to be developed by the Anchor Operators (AOP) since the start of the Enhanced AOP Scheme in January. The centres are expected to be completed by the second quarter of next year.
