SINGAPORE - The Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) will for the first time partner the Singapore Chefs Association (SCA) in a programme to raise the quality of nutrition and food services for elderly residents in nursing homes.

The one-year programme called “Partner a Nursing Home” will involve seven nursing homes for a start.

They are the Moral Home for the Aged Sick, Singapore Christian Home, Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens, United Medicare Centre, Sree Narayana Mission Home, St Joseph’s Home, and Society for the Aged Sick.

Under this programme, each nursing home will be paired with a chef from SCA who will provide consultation to the nursing home and mentor its cooks on areas like menu planning, food preparation and service.

The SCA chefs are providing their culinary expertise on a voluntary basis. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
