Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council and Ang Mo Kio Town Council announced the handover in separate media statements on Tuesday.

Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council said that it will also hand over its two offices at Block 266 Compassvale Bow and Block 156A Rivervale Crescent, both located within the Sengkang Group Representation Constituency (GRC), to Sengkang Town Council.

Sengkang Town Council was formed to manage Sengkang GRC, a newly formed constituency that was won by the opoosition Workers’ Party at this year's General Election.

Sengkang GRC is made up of parts of the Pasir-Ris Punggol GRC before the new boundaries were drawn for the election, along with Sengkang West Single Member Constituency (SMC) and Punggol East SMC.

Sengkang residents can continue to pay their service and conservancy charges in cash at the two offices.

Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council will transfer the accounts of residents who are on existing online payment plans to Sengkang Town Council without disruption.

Sengkang residents may contact its town council at 6590 9700 for enquiries.

“Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council would like to thank Sengkang residents for their support, and hope that residents will continue to work with Sengkang Town Council in caring for the people and the town,” the statement read.

“Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council would also like to take this opportunity to wish Sengkang Town Council all the best for the future,” it added.

In its statement, Ang Mo Kio Town Council said: “(We are) grateful to have had the opportunity to serve residents in the former Sengkang West SMC (Anchorvale) over the past few years, and would like to take this opportunity to wish Sengkang Town Council the very best in its efforts to serve residents of Sengkang.”
