SINGAPORE — The Paya Lebar Square mall and a Cold Storage supermarket outlet at West Mall in Bukit Batok are among the places recently visited by Covid-19 cases when they were infectious.

In its evening update on the coronavirus situation in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Thursday (July 2) that the infectious persons had visited:

  • A Cold Storage outlet at West Mall on June 26 between 12.40pm and 1.10pm

  • Paya Lebar Square at 60 Paya Lebar Road on June 28 between 10.50am and 11.30am

  • Fu Chan Coffee Shop at Block 145 Teck Whye Avenue on June 30 between 11.10 am and 11.45am

  • A Skechers shoes shop at IMM mall on June 30 between 2pm and 2.30pm

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who had been identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," the ministry said.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

Members of the public do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, it added.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

On Thursday, MOH also announced 188 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore. Of these, one was an imported case, 10 were identified as cases in the community, while the remaining 177 infections were linked to foreign workers living in dormitories.

The ministry said earlier that it has offered Covid-19 testing to the residents and visitors from 58 households residing in Block 111 on Tampines Street 11. This was after the discovery of nine new Covid-19 infections in two separate households living in the same block.

The 58 households, who shared the same lifts and staircases with the two infected households, have been placed under active phone surveillance. The rest of the households in the same block that do not share lifts and stairwells were not asked to be tested.
