The police said the shop had sold a can of beer during prohibited hours under the new regulations on alcohol sales in the area. Officers had conducted a check on the shop along Chander Road on Dec 22 last year after spotting a man walking out of the shop with a can of beer.
Liquor and convenience stores there are only allowed to sell alcohol from 6am to 8pm on the affected days.
The proprietor of the liquor shop, a 59 year-old man, could be fined up to S$5,000 if found guilty.
The police said since Dec 14 last year, 37 people have been issued advisories for drinking in public within the proclaimed area during prohibited times.
The 37 complied and the alcohol in their possession was seized.
