SINGAPORE — The Public Service Division (PSD) said on Tuesday (April 18) it has "no information to provide at the moment" when asked about a report that Singapore's central bank chief Ravi Menon is set to leave his post this year.

"The Public Service Division will announce any upcoming changes to the appointment of Permanent Secretaries through official channels and media releases," it said in response to CNA's queries.

Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter, that Mr Menon is set to leave the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) this year after more than a decade in charge.

The report added that Mr Menon's current term ends on May 31, and that Chia Der Jiun, one of his former deputies, is tipped to be his successor.

Mr Menon is scheduled to speak at the Inclusive Fintech Forum, which will take place from June 20 to June 22. According to the event website, he is listed as MAS' managing director.

The inaugural forum is a partner event of the annual Singapore FinTech Festival, where Mr Menon delivered speeches in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Prior to his appointment as MAS' managing director in 2011, Mr Menon was previously Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade & Industry and Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Finance. CNA
