Punggol stabbing: 43-year-old man charged with murder

Kim Wee Ming, 46, was found dead on the afternoon of July 14, 2021 with multiple stab wounds, after the police received reports of a stabbing at a housing unit in Punggol.

Heng Boon Chai, a Singaporean, will be remanded for psychiatric observation, District Judge Eugene Teo said.
The case will be heard again on Aug 6.
Heng is accused of stabbing Kim Wee Ming, 46, on Wednesday afternoon along the corridor outside a sixth-floor flat at Block 326A Sumang Walk.
Kim’s nationality was not stated in court documents.
It is not known how the two were related, but early investigations showed that they knew each other.
Kim was found dead with multiple stab wounds, after the police received reports of a stabbing there.
The body was lying outside the flat, the police had said.
If found guilty of murder, Heng could face the death penalty.
