SINGAPORE — From today (June 3), Raffles Hospital will be providing emergency medical care to patients sent to the hospital by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) ambulances at subsidised rates.

The hospital will also provide services for patients who need to be admitted subsequently for inpatient care or are referred to specialist outpatient care at subsidised rates.

This is part of an Emergency Care Collaboration between Raffles Hospital and the Ministry of Health (MOH), aimed at enhancing access to subsidised healthcare in Singapore. Under this collaboration, patients sent to the hospital by SCDF ambulances will pay rates that are similar to those in public hospitals.

The collaboration was first announced in December last year, where patients assessed with non-life threatening conditions will be sent by SCDF ambulances to Raffles Hospital’s Emergency Department if it is the nearest available and appropriate hospital between 9am and 5pm on weekdays, excluding public holidays.
