Scandal-ridden singer Aliff Aziz charged with stealing S$400 in cash, cigarettes and a lighter
SINGAPORE — Popular Singaporean singer and actor Aliff Aziz, who has been embroiled in controversy over his ex-wife, was charged in the State Courts on Tuesday (Sept 3) with two counts of theft.

The 28-year-old is accused of stealing S$300, as well as 1 million rupiah (S$98) in cash from Indonesian celebrity Raja Yunika Perdhana Putri on June 7 this year.
Court documents showed that the theft allegedly took place between midnight and 3am at the Studio M Hotel in the Clarke Quay area.
On Aug 6 last year, at about 4.45am, he is also said to have stolen a packet of Marlboro white menthol cigarettes and a lighter from a man at a Starbucks outlet in Plaza Singapura mall.
Aliff, whose full name is Mohamad Aliff Aziz, is out on bail and set to return to court on Oct 1.
If convicted of theft in dwelling, he could be jailed for up to seven years and fined. If convicted of theft, he could he jailed for up to three years, or fined, or both.
Aliff was first arrested by the police in June after Ms Raja Yunika filed a report against him.
She told Malaysian newspaper The Star that she met up with Aliff to help him rebuild his acting career, after his marriage to Malaysian actress Bella Astillah broke down. They officially divorced in May this year.
While filing for divorce, Ms Astillah cited his extra-marital affairs with other women. News of his fling with fellow Malaysian actress Alifah Nasir first broke in 2017, and he also reportedly cheated with another unnamed actress.
A Malaysian court also ordered Aliff to pay RM1,000 (S$329) in maintenance every month for his and Ms Astillah’s two-year-old son’s expenses.
