Second eatery in Little India among places visited by Covid-19 cases while infectious

SINGAPORE — A second eatery in Little India has been added to a list of public places that had been visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its evening update of the coronavirus situation on Thursday (Oct 15) that the infectious person or persons visited Mohammadi Restaurant, an eatery specialising in Bangladeshi cuisine, at 7 Lembu Road between 1pm and 2pm on Oct 10.

The eatery is located between Syed Alwi Road, where Mustafa Centre is located, and Serangoon Road.

This is the second consecutive day that an eatery in Little India has made it to MOH's list of places visited by a Covid-19 case during their infectious period.

On Wednesday, the ministry added Indian-Muslim eatery Hi Five to the list.

Located at 6 Dunlop Street, it was visited by an infectious person or persons between 8.25am and 8.55am on Oct 11.

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who were identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," it added. 

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

Members of the public do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, the ministry said.

Individuals may access the SafeEntry location matching self-check service via the TraceTogether mobile application, SingPass app, or at https://wereyouthere.safeentry.gov.sg to check whether they were at these locations during the specified timings, based on their own SafeEntry records.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

MOH reported three cases of Covid-19 on Thursday. One is a locally transmitted case who resides in a foreign worker dormitory, and two are imported.
