Sheng Siong kidnap case suspect deemed fit to make plea
SINGAPORE — One of the two men accused of kidnapping the mother of Sheng Siong supermarkets’ boss has been deemed fit to make a plea.

SINGAPORE — One of the two men accused of kidnapping the mother of Sheng Siong supermarkets’ boss has been deemed fit to make a plea.
The court heard that Lee Sze Yong, 41, is of sound mind after a psychiatric evaluation by the Institute of Mental Health.
Lee is accused of abducting 79-year-old Madam Ng Lye Poh along Hougang Avenue 2 last month. He allegedly did so together with 50-year-old Heng Chen Boon.
Lee’s case will come up for further mention on April 1.
The highest penalty for kidnapping is death, or life imprisonment and caning. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
