SingPost launches POPStation mobile app to facilitate parcel collection

SINGAPORE — Instead of having to key in a PIN, customers can now unlock their POPStation lockers with a swipe across their phone screens or by scanning a QR code to pick up their parcels more easily.

SINGAPORE — Instead of having to key in a PIN, customers can now unlock their POPStation lockers with a swipe across their phone screens or by scanning a QR code to pick up their parcels more easily.

This mobile application is among the POPStation — which stands for Pick Own Parcel Station — initiatives launched by SingPost yesterday to better serve the needs of online shoppers.

The new POPStation mobile app will allow customers to not only unlock their lockers with ease, but also track the status of their parcels, receive alerts and locate nearby POPStation kiosks.

Customers can also pay and collect their purchases at the POPStation kiosks using NETS or ez-Link.

The app — currently available only on the Apple Store — is set to be released on Google Play soon.

POPStations, introduced last year, can be used by customers of partner retailers such as Adidas, Zalora, Xiaomi and McDonald’s.

Currently, there are 72 POPStation kiosks and SingPost hopes to deploy up to 100 kiosks by year-end.

Besides those who shop at partner retailers, those who want to send parcels via Speedpost can now do so at any POPStation kiosk. Customers can visit the new ezy2ship website to enter shipment details, print labels for their parcels and drop them off at POPStation kiosks for delivery.

Speaking at a demonstration of the new features yesterday, Ms Lim Ann Nee, SingPost senior vice-president (Singapore Parcels), said: “We are working towards offering all Speedpost customers the option of receiving their parcels, both local and overseas purchases, via the POPStation.” Elgin Chong
