SingTel announce compensation packages for customers affected by fire
SINGAPORE – SingTel has announced compensation packages for its 60,000 customers who were affected by the fire at the Bukit Panjang facility last week.
SINGAPORE – SingTel announced today that its 60,000 customers who have been affected by the outage caused by the recent fire at the Bukit Panjang Internet exchange are due to receive some form of compensation.
Broadband customers will have their speeds upgraded for three months for free. For instance, those on a 100Mbps plan will get bumped up to 200Mbps. Mio TV customers will receive free viewing on all channels for one month, while those on fixed voice services will get one month’s worth of free local calls.
The telco will reach out to its business customers individually on compensation packages.
SingTel’s chief executive officer of consumer, Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, said in an interview that the Singapore Civil Defence Force is conducting their own investigation in addition to the one SingTel is carrying out now.
All findings will be directly reported to SingTel’s board of directors, he added.
