Teck Whye Lane murder accused remanded for psychiatric evaluation

SINGAPORE — The man charged with the murder of a woman in Choa Chu Kang has been remanded at Changi Medical Complex for psychiatric evaluation.

SINGAPORE — The man charged with the murder of a woman in Choa Chu Kang has been remanded at Changi Medical Complex for psychiatric evaluation.

Muhammed Fazrie Mohamed Ridzuan , 22, is accused of causing the death of 88-year-old Lee Ping Yeng.

The alleged crime took place at Teck Whye Lane, at about 11am on April 12. Fazrie was arrested on April 28.

The police said Lee was found with head injuries at a lift lobby on the ninth floor of an HDB block at Teck Whye Lane. She died three days later.

Fazrie’s case will be heard again on May 27. If guilty, he faces either a lifetime in jail with caning, or the death penalty. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
