Traffic police officer taken to hospital after accident with car on BKE

SINGAPORE — A traffic police officer was taken to hospital after an accident involving his police motorcycle and a car along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) early on Wednesday (May 10).

SINGAPORE — A traffic police officer was taken to hospital after an accident involving his police motorcycle and a car along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) early on Wednesday (May 10).

In response to TODAY's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force and the police said that they were alerted to a traffic accident along BKE towards the Pan-Island Expressway after the Mandai Road exit at about 7.05am on Wednesday.

The 36-year-old male police officer was taken conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital in Jurong East.

In a video circulating online showing the aftermath of the accident, a traffic police officer is seen sitting on the road and leaning against a police motorcycle.

He is seen clasping his face as another traffic police officer leans over him.

A white sedan with a damaged rear is seen beside the officer, alongside debris strewn on the ground.

Police investigations are ongoing.
