SINGAPORE — A suspected war relic was found at a construction site in the western part of Singapore yesterday morning (July 29), the Singapore Army said on its Facebook page today.
SINGAPORE — A suspected war relic was found at a construction site in the western part of Singapore yesterday morning (July 29), the Singapore Army said on its Facebook page today.
The 86cm-long war relic was a 107mm calibre round that was fused and fired, according to the Facebook post. The Army added that the protective cap was missing and the striker head was exposed — making the round extremely dangerous to handle.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal standby team was activated upon the finding, and the round was safely disposed of on site by the team yesterday evening. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
