SINGAPORE — Wedding receptions held at common areas of Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats may resume, subject to the approval of town councils, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday (Oct 20).

These receptions will be subject to a cap of 100 attendees including the couple but excluding the vendors, it said.

The receptions must be also organised by a professional wedding organiser or companies providing related services.

Before applying to the town councils, wedding organisers and couples must first submit their event details to the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) and obtain a letter of acknowledgement.

Couples and wedding organisers may approach SMCCI from Nov 9 to obtain the letter.

Attendees must also adhere to the prevailing safe management measures for wedding receptions.

RESUMPTION OF LIVE SHOWS

Separately, MOH said live performances will be allowed to resume at designated live performance venues from Nov 1.

The venues, however, are subject to a cap of two zones of 50 audience members.

Safe management measures including a limit on the number of production crew and performers on stage not wearing a mask, and safe distancing between performers and the audience, must be observed.

Further details will be issued by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the National Arts Council at a later date.

WORK-RELATED EVENTS

From Thursday, in-person work-related events such as conferences and annual general meetings will be allowed to take place at third party venues.

These events have been allowed in the businesses and workplaces’ own premises since Sept 28, said MOH.

Up to 50 persons per event will be allowed and the event will also be subject to any additional policies by the premise owner, the ministry added.
