WP’s Low Thia Khiang discharged from ICU after 5 days, to remain in general ward for recovery
SINGAPORE — Former Workers’ Party chief Low Thia Khiang, who is in hospital for a head injury, has left an intensive care unit after five days and has been moved to a general ward, the party said in a statement on Tuesday (May 5).

SINGAPORE — Former Workers’ Party (WP) chief Low Thia Khiang, who is in hospital for a head injury, has left an intensive care unit after five days and has been moved to a general ward, the party said in a statement on Tuesday (May 5).
The party had earlier announced that Mr Low had been admitted into the intensive care unit after suffering a head injury from a fall at home last Thursday.
It added that Mr Low is likely to remain in the hospital for a few more weeks to recuperate.
“Mr Low’s family has asked us to convey their deep appreciation for all the good wishes sent to him for a speedy recovery,” WP said.
Mr Low, 63, is the longest-serving Opposition Member of Parliament (MP) in Singapore, since winning the Hougang single-member constituency in the 1991 General Election. He has been an MP for the Aljunied Group Representation Constituency since 2011.
