SINGAPORE — With 20 more days to go before the 28th SEA Games officially opens, a total of 2,482 volunteers today (May 16) broke the Singapore record for the "Largest Human Formation of a Numerical" at the National Stadium.

They formed the number ‘1’ in preparation for a grand reveal on June 4, when they will countdown to one day before the games.

Volunteers at the SEA Games, collectively called Team NILA, will be clad in purple to create “a common identity... forge a sense of belonging and instill a sense of pride” among sports volunteers, said the Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committee (SINGSOC).

Tickets to the 28th SEA Games Closing Ceremony were also given out to all the volunteers who were present today. “I am certainly excited to be a part of the Games,” Mr Vincent Fong, a dignitary photographer volunteer, said. “... it’s great that the volunteers have been given tickets to catch the Closing Ceremony as a token of appreciation for our efforts.”
