RIO DE JANEIRO - Singapore sailing couple Justin Liu and Denise Lim are lying in sixth spot in the 20-strong multi-hull Nacra 17 (multihull) class after two races.
The pair, who finished second in their first race, came in 14th in their next race, and their score of 16 points had initially put them in eighth spot.
However, the disqualification of Spain's Tara Pacheco and Fernando Echavarri and Greek duo Sofia Bekatorou and Michalis Pateriotis in the second race mean that Liu and Lim have now moved up to sixth spot.
Olympic debutants Liu and Lim are due to compete in their third race at 12.05am, Friday morning (Aug 12). There are 12 races in all. Switzerland's Nathalie Brugger and Matias Buhler lead the 20-strong field with seven points.
Meanwhile, Colin Cheng is currently ranked 18th out of 46 sailors in the Laser Standard after six races with 77 points, while Lasar Radial sailor Elizabeth Yin is 25th out of 37 after six races.
Women's 470 pair Jovina Choo and Amanda Ng are 19th out of 20 after two races.
