Tangs department store and Bedok South food centre among locations visited by infectious Covid-19 cases

SINGAPORE — Tangs department store, the Challenger store at Bedok Point and the Chinatown Complex Food Centre were among places that Covid-19 cases had visited recently during their infectious period, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Saturday (July 11).

In its evening update on the coronavirus situation in Singapore, the ministry said that the infectious patients had visited:

• ICA Building at 10 Kallang Road on July 2 between 9.30am and 10.30am

• KFC fast-food outlet at West Mall on July 3 between 8.10 and 8.50 am

• Boon Lay Shopping Centre on July 3 between 12.55pm and 1.45pm

• Geylang Serai Market and Food Centre on July 4 between 11am and 11.30am 

• Joo Chiat Complex on July 4 between 12.25pm and 1.15pm

• McDonald’s fast-food outlet at IMM on July 4 between 9.05pm and 10pm

• Red Ginger cafe at IMM on July 5 between 11.10am and 12.40pm

• Bugis Street on July 5 between 1.35pm and 2.15 pm

• Bugis+ mall on July 5 between 2.15pm and 2.45pm

• Bugis Junction on July 5 between 2.45pm and 3.30pm 

• Chinatown Complex Food Centre on July 5 between 6.10 pm and 7.45pm

• Food Xchange@Admiralty building on July 6 between 10.05am and 2pm

• FairPrice supermarket at Bukit Batok West Avenue 8 on July 6 between 12.20pm and 12.50pm

• Tangs store at Tang Plaza on July 9 between 11.25am and 12pm

• Challenger outlet at Bedok Point on July 9 between 4pm and 5.15pm 

• Block 16 Bedok South Market and Food Centre on July 10 between 12pm and 12.30 pm

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who had been identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," it added.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

Members of the public do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, the ministry said.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

On Saturday, MOH confirmed another 170 Covid-19 cases. Of these, 24 are in the community, including seven Singaporeans and permanent residents.
