I have noticed that only some new public buses in Singapore have an electronic display showing the next stop and several upcoming ones.

I want to highlight that this has been a feature on all Hong Kong public buses for at least 15 years. Buses there are also equipped with automated voice announcements of the next stop. Such features are also common on buses in other Chinese cities, but not here.

These audio-visual features are not costly and are critical for commuters with visual and hearing problems as well as those who are unfamiliar with the bus route. They are necessary if we want to be an inclusive society with a world-class public transport system.

I hope that the authorities and the bus companies will implement such features as soon as possible.
