We refer to Mr Anand Kumar’s letter, “Are long waits at police stations commonplace?” (Sept 1, online). We have contacted him and explained that the officers on duty were attending to the complainants who arrived before him.

As the complexity of each case differs, our officers needed time to address each of the complainants’ issues. We have since attended to Mr Kumar’s report on Sept 1.

Members of the public who wish to lodge a police report can do so at a Neighbourhood Police Centre, a Neighbourhood Police Post or online via the Electronic Police Centre (www.police.gov.sg/epc).

For urgent cases, the public can call 999 for immediate assistance. We thank Mr Kumar for his feedback.
