GEORGE TOWN — A Molotov cocktail was thrown into the compound of the Penang Football Association (FAP) office in Jalan Sepoy Lines on Tuesday (Feb 14).

Staff members discovered scorch marks and remnants of a broken bottle outside the building’s entrance when they arrived for work in the morning.

Malaysian North-east District Police chief Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said a team was sent to investigate the site and found evidence of a petrol bomb.

“There was no CCTV or security guard at the office so there were no witnesses to the incident. According to the complainant, this is the first time this had happened and they do not know who could have done this,” he said.

The police will record statements from all workers in FAP to obtain further information and motives for the incident.

“We will be investigating this under Section 435 of the Penal Code which is for mischief by fire or explosive substance in Malaysia,” he said. MALAY MAIL ONLINE
