KUALA LUMPUR — Police are hunting the “ISIS-minded person” who threatened to kill G25 spokesman Noor Farida Ariffin over her criticism against khalwat (close proximity) raids, The Star Online reported today (Dec 21).

Wangsa Maju police chief Supt Mohd Roy Suhaimi Sarif said they were looking for the Facebook user using the name “Al Mujahid Arman”, after Noor Farida lodged a report on Saturday over a post saying it was permissible to kill her.

Mr Roy said police were investigating the case under Section 506 of the Penal Code for issuing death threats.

Al Mujahid’s profile photo showed a man holding a Kalashnikov rifle with the ISIS logo in the background.

Mr Roy told The Star that police also received reports lodged against G25 over comments at a Dec 5 forum on “Islam in a Constitutional Democracy”.

The paper also reported that Malacca police would be calling Noor Farida in their probe into the forum under the Sedition Act.

Ms Noor Farida have received threats on social network sites following calls by G25 to stop enforcement of intrusive Shariah laws.

Ms Noor Farida was also threatened with sexual assault by another Facebook user, Sharul Nizam Ab Rahim, who uploaded a post that he would break into her house and “try her”.

Perak police yesterday said they had obtained Sharul’s details. Penang DAP Wanita leaders have also lodged a police report against Sharul. THE MALAYSIAN INSIDER
