BATANG KALI — Rescuers have excavated 40 per cent of the Father's Organic Farm campsites in search of victims of the landslide that struck the area on Friday (Dec 16).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis said they would dig until they reached ground level.

"We have four excavators and have requested for more to expedite rescue efforts," he said in a press conference on Saturday.

He also said that the rescuers were predicting the possible location of the remaining victims based on the positioning of the tents at the campsite.

Most of the victims were found on the left side of the campsite, hence he said their focus was now shifted to the right side.

"The search continues based on the findings of the victims yesterday.

"We are also focusing on the left side (of the campsite)," he added.

There are 135 personnel involved in the operation.

The deadly landslide has so far claimed 23 lives, with 10 people still listed as missing. NEW STRAITS TIMES
