JOHOR BAHRU — A toddler died after he fell from a baby chair while having a meal at a restaurant in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on Tuesday (Oct 4).

JOHOR BAHRU — A toddler died after he fell from a baby chair while having a meal at a restaurant in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on Tuesday (Oct 4).
Johor Bahru North deputy police chief Superintendent Fariz Ammar Abdullah said police received a report on the incident from the victim's father at 5.23pm.
"Investigations showed that the victim and his parents came to the restaurant in Taman Sutera about 2pm and the two-year-old was placed in a baby chair.
"At about 3pm, the victim suddenly kicked the table causing the chair to fall over and the victim hit his head on the floor.
"The victim then cried out loud before passing out. The incident was witnessed by the restaurant employees," he said in a statement.
"The father then took the victim to a private hospital in Iskandar Puteri where he was pronounced dead by the medical officer on duty," said the police chief.
He said a post mortem will be carried on the victim at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital on Wednesday (Oct 5) to find out the cause of death.
"No criminal elements have been found in the incident and a sudden death report has been opened," said Mr Fariz Ammar.
He said the father then took the victim to a nearby clinic but he was advised by the doctor to take the victim to the hospital as his condition seemed to be serious. NEW STRAITS TIMES
