WALES, UNITED KINGDOM — The party must go on, even if your groom is absent from your wedding.

A bride in Wales has gone viral on TikTok for revealing details of her solo wedding party that she held on Sept 15 after her groom decided to back out of the marriage at the last minute.

The viral video, which was posted on Tuesday (Sept 27), has received more than six million views and 10,700 comments within three days.

The bride Kayley Stead, 27, is seen marching down the aisle to the groovy tunes of Lizzo’s Good As Hell with her bridesmaids and groomsmen in tow.

British media reports said that Ms Stead's fiance and partner of four years, 24-year-old Kallum Norton, reportedly got cold feet hours before the wedding reception and did not show up.

Despite the heartbreak, the insurance clerk did not let an absent groom ruin her wedding day. Instead, she decided to let the party go on.

“Even though the day didn't go to plan, I couldn't let the hard work that I put into this day and a good party go to waste,” Ms Stead wrote in her TikTok captions.

The bride carried on with regular programming — she downed shots of alcohol, walked down the aisle, danced and even punched off the top tier of her wedding cake.

Even the groomsmen stayed for the wedding, although the family of the groom left, Ms Stead elaborated in the comments.

She also explained why she chose American singer Lizzo’s Good As Hell for her wedding entrance.

“This song carried me through the day and reminded me that 'if he doesn't love you anymore, just walk your fine a** out the door',” she wrote on TikTok.

@kayleystead So I was a jilted bride and unfortunately shit things happen to people. Even though the day didn't go to plan, I couldn't let the hard work that I put into this day and a good party go to waste. The day was filled with many laughs and a lot of tears. When they asked me what song I wanted to enter into there was no other choice but Lizzo's anthem of a song... Good As Hell 🎶! This song carried me through the day and reminded me that "if he don't love you anymore just walk your fine ass out the door". I have never resonated with lyrics so much as I did/do with @lizzo song untill that moment. Sorry for more posts about this day, there will be more but I'm proud of it so what can I say. #lizzo #goodashell #womenempowerment #womensupportingwomen #wedding #jiltedbride #selflove #loveyourself #music #dance #memories #moments #weddingdress #bridesmaids #friends #carryingon ♬ Good as Hell - Lizzo

TikTok users rallied around Ms Stead after she posted her story on the video-sharing platform, with many celebrating her for her positivity throughout the ordeal.

One said: “Absolute queen for still enjoying your day.”

Another commented: “You have the most positive and amazing attitude! Good things are gonna come your way with that smile like sunshine!”

The newly single woman has not heard from the groom ever since the wedding, reports said.

Ms Stead told British news agency SWNS last Friday: “I saw the groom at around 4pm the day before the wedding and I haven’t heard from him since.”

On talk show This Morning, Ms Stead said that she had received a phone call from Mr Norton's dad who told her that he was "sorry" and that his son was "safe, but he is four hours away".

"And we had an hour to get married," Ms Stead said.

With her honeymoon to Turkey cancelled, the plucky ex-bride now has a new goal rediscovering herself.

“I am now on this journey of rediscovering who I am, so I wanted to create this video to remind me of what I achieved on this day,” she updated on her latest TikTok video posted on Friday (Sept 30).

RECEIVED DONATIONS FROM STRANGERS

Ms Stead has reportedly received more than 7,000 British pounds (S$11,177) in donations after her best friend set up a GoFundMe page to try and recoup some of the wedding costs.

Ms Stead was even offered 2,000 pounds to go on the "honeymoon" that she was denied.

She said to news media North Wales Live: "Thank you to everyone who has taken their time to read my story. Just remember that moments like this don't define you, but how you overcome it does."
