Sheng Siong in Marsiling Mall, hair and beauty salons among places visited by Covid-19 cases while infectious

SINGAPORE — A Sheng Siong supermarket in Marsiling Mall as well as a hair salon in Toa Payoh have been added to a list of public places where Covid-19 cases had been during their infectious period.

In its evening update on the coronavirus situation in Singapore on Friday (June 11), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the infectious persons had visited:

• Sheng Siong supermarket at Marsiling Mall on May 30 between 4.30pm and 5pm

• Divine Beauty at Block 303 Woodlands Street 31 on June 5 between 10am and 10.45am

• Guardian pharmacy at Ion Orchard mall on June 5, 6, 7 and 9 between 12.30pm and 8.30pm

• The One Hairstyling Studio at 123 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh on June 8 between 11am and 1.45pm

• Ang Mo Kio MRT Station on June 8 between 8.15pm and 8.45pm

MOH added that a 57-year-old Singaporean woman who works at the Guardian pharmacy in Ion Orchard is among three community cases reported on Friday that have no known sources of infection.

The woman developed symptoms on June 7 but did not see a doctor until three days later when she developed an earache.

Apart from three community cases reported on Friday, the other six infections were imported.

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who were identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," it added.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

Individuals may access the SafeEntry Location Matching Self-Check service via the TraceTogether mobile application, SingPass app, or at https://wereyouthere.safeentry.gov.sg to check whether they were at these locations during the specified timings, based on their own SafeEntry records.

Members of the public do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, MOH said.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.
